RAF acted as a major donor to the construction of the Mayar Elementary School in Sheik Yassin Village, Wardak, Afghanistan. The school opened its doors to 250 girls on October 12, 2005. RAF continues to act as the sole provider for the Mayar School's operational expenses and security expenses.
RAF launched a pen-pal program to foster cultural exchange between U.S. and Afghan students with the Mayar School and an elementary school in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania.
RAF provided funding for teacher salaries and educational programs at three schools for orphans: Kabul Boys School, Kabul Girls School and Paghman Girls School.
