RAF is currently raising money to fund three projects. Each presents the opportunity to work with unique organizations in the U.S. and Afghanistan. In addition, these projects support RAF's commitment to rural education and its strategic decision to strive for diversity in geography, demography, and educational needs:
Moshwani Payan School
In 2011, RAF will partner with the Organization for the Advancement of Afghan Women by funding a complete rebuild of the Moshwani Payan school in the village of Kalakhan, Kabul province. The project will serve to educate hundreds of girls and boys in elementary and middle school in an areas not far from the capital yet still remote.
Ismael Mayar School
The Foundation continues to fund the operational expenses and security needs of the Mayar Elementary School in Sheikh Yassin village, Wardak province. The support of $30,000 per year is administered by Afghans for Tomorrow and will continue until the school is able to be fully supported by the Ministry of Education.
Bamiyan High School for Girls
The construction of the new RAF-funded science laboratory at the Bamiyan High School for Girls was recently completed. The project built a science laboratory to allow students to build hands-on science skills, an important component of secondary education. This RAF funded project was completed in 2010 and was administered by the Shuhada Organization.
