RAF prides itself on the extensive due diligence process it employs for each project under consideration. Identifying reliable and reputable charitable organizations working on the ground in rural Afghanistan is not always a simple proposition. We view each project we fund as an investment. In making this investment, we understand we have a responsibility to our donors and to our organization to ensure that each dollar we expend is being used in the intended manner and in the most financially efficient manner possible.
Our due diligence process consists of meeting with the management of the charitable organization under consideration and reviewing their work record in Afghanistan, running checks on the organization through our contacts in the US government (Department of State and Department of Defense), the US Embassy in Afghanistan and running checks on the organization through our contacts in the nonprofit world.
